Palo Duro Gold
Palo Duro Gold
Novel by Gerald McCathern
Hard Back
What does a crow have to do with a hiden treasure? You will find out as McCathern, in the style of Louis L’Amour, keeps the reader spell-bound, as he weaves a fictional story around historical events and characters during the settling of the Texas Panhandle, 1875-1881.
It is a fact that in 1876, two sheepmen were murdered in Palo Duro Canyon by the noted Mexican outlaw, Sostenes L’Archeveque, and twenty-five thousand dollars in gold coins disappeared. Twenty people are either dilled, murdered or hung as a result of the search for the gold. When two young cowboys from the Ceebara ranch join the search, they lead the reader on a wild adventure as they battle cattle rustlers, outlaws, buffalo hunters, gamblers and prostitutes in their quest for the gold.
