Outlaw Books
Gerald McCathern, Writer, publisher, and distributor
After the style of Louis L’Amour
Outlaw Books is a departure from the norm in publishing and marketing books. Thousands of great books are never published, and consequently, never read, because established publishers in New York City reject manuscripts which they consider “out of step with the times.”
Well written and interesting western novels have fallen prey to that philosophy in recent years. Many readers of Louis L’Amour, Zane Grey, Larry McMurty, and Elmer Kelton have voiced their concerns about being unable to find good new westerns on the shelves of the book stores. One only has to walk down the aisles of Barnes and Noble and Borders Books to understand their disappointment. In most instances, only six to eight feet of shelf space is devoted to westerns, and much of that is filled by books of established authors, which have been in print for many years.
Outlaw Books will be seeking and advertising Westerns on the Internet by new authors–authors who have confidence enough in their novels to self publish their own books.
Outlaw Books pledges to our customers to review the books that we advertise, to make certain that they are of the highest quality in both content and material–and pledge to meet all competition in price.
